DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT PLAN AND ZONING ORDINANCE
STEERING COMMITTEE

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility and authority of the Planning and Development
Committee under Wisconsin Statutes, s.59.97(3), to maintain and implement a County
Development Plan and Zoning Ordinance for St. Croix County; and
WHEREAS, the last county -wide planning effort was the Farmland Preservation Plan in
1980; and
WHEREAS, the last complete revision and update of the Zoning Ordinance was in 1974;
and
WHEREAS, the County Board rules authorize the creation of a subcommittee which can
be made up of County Board members, local municipal officials and/or citizen members.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
meeting in regular session, hereby creates the St. Croix County Development Management Plan
and Zoning Ordinance Steering Committee as a subcommittee of the Planning and Development
Committee;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Board Chairman, in consultation with the
Planning and Development Committee, will appoint the membership of the Steering Committee;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the membership will consist of four County Board
Supervisors, two from the Planning and Development Committee; five representatives of Town
government; and one representative of City /Village government;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the remaining three members of the Planning and
Development Committee will be ex- officio, non - voting, members who can serve as alternates for
the two official members in the event of an absence;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Steering Committee chairman and vice chairman will
be County Board Supervisors;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Steering Committee's term shall expire when all
action necessary to adopt the Development Plan and the Zoning Ordinance have been taken by
the County and Towns.
