HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 1995 (22) 1 RESOLUTION TO CONTINUE LTE VICTIM /WITNESS SPECIALIST POSITION IN 1996. Resolution # c2 (-15) WHEREAS, the Personnel Committee for St. Croix County met on September 6, 1995 to consider LTE positions within St. Croix County for the calendar year 1996, including a request to continue the LTE Victim /Witness Specialist Position; and WHEREAS, the motion for continuation of the LTE Victim /Witness Specialist position resulted in a tie vote which, according to county policy, is a defeated motion; and WHEREAS, the Public Protection Committee met on September 19, 1995, at which time they discussed the results of the tie vote and the necessity for this position, and believes it to be in the best interest of St. Croix County to continue the 20 hour per week LTE Victim /Witness Specialist position in 1996; and WHEREAS, the LTE position has enabled the Victim /Witness Program to better handle the statutory responsibilities relating to the ever - increasing felony, misdemeanor and juvenile caseloads, and to better serve the victims of those crimes; and WHEREAS, the Victim /Witness Assistance Program, including the costs of any LTE position within the program, are reimbursed by the Wisconsin Dept. of Justice in an amount estimated to be 75% of the total program costs in 1996. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the continuation of the 20 hour per week LTE Victim /Witness Specialist position be approved for the period 1 -1 -96 through 12- 31 -96, the costs of which position shall be included in the program's proposed 1996 budget. c�, f Dated this 1/ da y of September, 1995.
