OUTDOOR RECREATION PLAN

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the County's Outdoor Recreation Plan was last updated in 1976 and is outdated; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Development Committee, working with County staff, citizens, organizations
and the County's municipalities has prepared a St. Croix County Outdoor Recreation Plan, including a section on
the county recreation plan and a section with community recreation plans; and
WHEREAS, the County continues to provide outdoor recreation to promote the well -being of individuals
and families, improve the attractiveness of the county and contribute to the social and economic health of the
county and its communities; and
WHEREAS, the County and its municipalities desire to apply to the Department of Natural Resources for
matching grants under the Land and Water Conservation Fund, the Local Park Aids and the Stewardship program;
and
WHEREAS, ss 59.97(3), Wisconsin Statutes, authorizes counties to prepare and adopt a County
Development Plan under the County's Planning and Zoning Authority; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Outdoor Recreation Plan is an element of the County Development Plan;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors meeting in regular
session, hereby adopts the St. Croix County Outdoor Recreation Plan, pursuant to s.59.97(3), Wisconsin Statutes.
