IN THE CITY OF HUDSON

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has proposed to remove
the 14th Street on -ramp, located in the City of Hudson; and
WHEREAS, the S.t Croix County Transportation Committee has reviewed the history
associated with this proposal; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Transportation Committee has reviewed the
previous County Board resolution indicating agreement for removal of the ramp; and
WHEREAS, it is the St. Croix County Board of Supervisor's determination that
dramatic development has taken place since the previous resolution; and
WHEREAS, that development has caused substantial increases in traffic volume
throughout the Hudson /I -94 area; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Transportation Committee has had opportunity to
review the Traffic Operational Analysis, prepared for the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation by Barton Ashman Associates, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, this analysis does not indicate significant operational problems with the
14th Street on -ramp; and
WHEREAS, an accident survey has not shown significant accident numbers at the
14th Street on -ramp; and
WHEREAS, the City of Hudson and numerous Hudson residents and businesses
throughout the area have expressed concern in removing the on -ramp;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
that recommendation be made to the U.S. and Wisconsin Department of Transportation
that the 14th Street on -ramp to I -94 located in the City of Hudson, remain in use and
periodic reviews be done to determine if the on -ramp is creating any operational problems.
