St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the County charges waste haulers fees to deliver waste to the St. Croix
Waste -to- Energy Facility (tipping fee); and
WHEREAS, in general, the higher the tipping fees the lower the general property
tax levy for the balance of waste disposal costs; but
WHEREAS, competition from other solid waste disposal facilities is reducing the
amount of waste being processed at the St. Croix Waste -to- Energy Facility; and
WHEREAS, establishing the tipping fees for 1994 at this time will allow
municipalities and haulers sufficient information to establish their 1994 budgets; and
WHEREAS, charging a reduced fee for out -of- county waste in the low - waste- volume
months of January, February and December will assist the County in meeting its waste
delivery requirements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors that the 1994 tipping fees will remain the same as the 1993 fees, which are:
In- County Waste: $55.00 per ton
Out -of- County Waste: $60.00 per ton, except in the months of January, February and
December, when the volume of waste is low, the Waste Management
Committee will establish the most advantageous price it can to meet
delivery guarantees.
Special Waste: $100.00 per ton
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Waste Management Committee has the
authority to temporarily change the tipping fee on an emergency basis;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be mailed by the
County Clerk to all municipalities located in the County.
