COMPANY TO MAKE RAILROAD GRADE CROSSING IMPROVEMENTS

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, through its Transportation
Committee, has made a commitment to quality transportation facilities and services
throughout St. Croix County; and
WHEREAS, that commitment is reflected in a long term maintenance and
reconstruction program;
WHEREAS, that program has included a number of improvements on County Trunk
Highways that cross the Wisconsin Central Limited Railroad lines at the following locations:
County Trunk "D ", Section 5, Town of Glenwood
County Trunk "O ", just north of the Village of Cylon, Town of Cylon
County Trunk 'T', Section 3, Town of Erin Prairie
County Trunk "K ", at the east city limits, City of New Richmond
WHEREAS, there has been or is scheduled to be completed in the near future,
improvements on each of these sections of highways; and
WHEREAS, the crossings are not improved to the level of quality of the highway
joining it on either side; and
WHEREAS, this causes inconsistency in the quality of transportation facilities used
by the travelling public in St. Croix County; and
WHEREAS, the crossings must be upgraded and improved to provide a level of
quality transportation that is consistent with the improvements that the County
Transportation Committee has developed through their Long Term Maintenance
Improvement Program.
THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors requests
the Wisconsin Central Limited Railroad Company to improve each of the crossings shown
above, at the railroad company's expense, to a level of improvement that is consistent with
the quality highway adjacent to each crossing and that those crossings be improved in a
timely, efficient and effective manner pursuant to Section 86.12, Wisconsin Statutes,
Highway Grade Crossings; Construction and Repair.
FURTHER, be it resolved that the Clerk serve a copy of this resolution upon the
local agent of Wisconsin Central Limited Railroad Company.
