FOR RECYCLING GRANT APPLICATION

ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, St. Croix County is the responsible unit for recycling under WI Stats 159.09(1)(b); and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin Administrative Code NR 542.07(1) requires that responsible units submit
recycling grant application by September 1st of the year preceding the calendar year in which grants are
distributed; and
WHEREAS, in 1993, recycling grant applications from responsible units were accepted by the state after
the September 1st deadline; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of these applications has delayed the notification of grant awards to other
responsible units thereby negatively affecting the budget process in St. Croix County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors does hereby
oppose the extension of the submission deadline for the recycling grant program; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the submission deadline for the recycling grant program be changed
to July 1st of the year preceding the calendar year for grant distribution thereby allowing responsible units
to have recycling grant information to the responsible unit in time for the annual budget process.
