RESOLUTION NO. 20 (92)
ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development
Authority (WHEDA) has created the Economic Development Technical
Assistance Services program to provide 1 year grants to counties
or designated agents of counties under - served or unserved by an
organization providing economic development functions; and
WHEREAS, tourism is an increasingly important economic
development strategy; and
WHEREAS, tourism development activities within St. Croix
County are under -served by tourism development organizations; and
WHEREAS, The Pierce County Economic Development Corporation
has proposed a two - county regional area tourism development
program to hire two full -time staff and to provide an operating
budget for promotional activities to be funded by the WHEDA
Economic Development Technical Assistance Services program in
order to increase economic development in St. Croix and Pierce
Counties through tourism development.
WHEREAS, When funding ceases, St. Croix County is under no
obligation to fund this program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pierce County
Economic Development Corporation be the designated agent for St.
Croix County to apply for grant funds from the Economic Develop-
ment Technical Assistance Services Program to implement the St.
Croix - Pierce County Tourism Development Program.
