St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, a purchase proposal for the 1900 Courthouse has been received from
John and Cyndi Berglund of Hudson, Wisconsin for $180,000; and
WHEREAS, that is the only proposal received for the 1900 Courthouse; and
WHEREAS, the 1900 Courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places,
making a sale and use of the building subject to approval by the Wisconsin Historical
Society.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
that a purchase agreement be prepared by the Berglunds and Corporation Counsel with all
necessary terms, including a selling price of $180,000 cash, a closing date of May 1, 1993,
and the contingency of Wisconsin Historical Society approval;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that once completed, the purchase agreement may
be signed by the Board Chair and County Clerk, the authorized agents of the County;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Corporation Counsel shall handle the closing
of this transaction for the County and upon receipt of a certified check, cashiers check or
money order, and fulfillment of all other conditions, shall deliver a deed to the purchasers
signed by the Board Chair and County Clerk.
