SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, ss. 59.07(135) and 144.437, Wisconsin Statutes, authorize counties to prepare and adopt
solid waste management plans; and
WHEREAS, the County's Solid Waste Management Plan was originally prepared in 1981 and is out
of date; and
WHEREAS, the County continues to make a substantial, annual financial commitment to solid waste
disposal and management; and
WHEREAS, the Waste Management Committee, with the assistance of several County staff and R.W.
Beck and Associates, has developed a St. Croix County Solid Waste Management Plan which includes a
needs assessment, program options and implementation plans; and
WHEREAS, the plan was developed with extensive public input, including citizen, municipal and
industrial surveys and several public information meetings for residents and local officials; and
WHEREAS, based on participation in the development of the plan, related public input and review
of the final plan, the St. Croix County Waste Management Committee voted to recommend adoption of the
Plan by the County Board of Supervisors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby
adopts the St. Croix County Solid Waste Management Plan.
