8 WHEREAS, under Wisconsin State Statute 84.02 - Jurisdictional Transfers: State-Local
9 Agreements, CTH "W" was transferred to St. Croix County as part of the STH 64 Houlton to New
10 Richmond four-lane highway project; and
11
12 WHEREAS, in 1932 there was a state highway realignment which adversely affected the right-of-
13 way lines along CTH "W" for today's purposes; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the Highway Department has clearly defined the right=of--way along CTH "W" that
16 is necessary to maintain for safety, encroachment enforcement, and other highway related purposes; and
17
18 WHEREAS, the Highway Department has clearly defined the right of way that is no longer needed
19 for highway purposes and can be transferred to the adjacent property owners for mutual benefit
20 throughout the area; and

22 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Highway Department has determined that 12 parcels for a total
23 4.361 acres of right-of-way acreage exists along of CTH "W" in the Town of Somerset and is no longer
24 necessary for the County's use for highway purposes; and
25
26 WHEREAS, Wisconsin State Statute 83.08(4) authorizes the County Board to transfer land to
27 owners of adjacent property owned by the County when the County Board determines such property is no
28 longer necessary for highway purposes; and
29
30 WHEREAS, the Highway Department and the Transportation Committee have determined that
31 each of the 12 parcels are small in size, nominal in value and should be transferred at no cost to the
32 adjacent land owners to clearly establish the right of way and to clear title to the property.

34 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
35 authorizes the Highway Commissioner to quit claim deed 12 parcels for a total of 4.361 acres of excess
36 right-of-way to adjacent land owners along CTH "W" in the Town of Somerset.
