HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2012 (17) 1 RESOLUTION APPROVING SALE OF COUNTY PROPERTY 2 CYLON WILDLIFE AREA 3 4 Resolution No. 5 6 St. Croix County, Wisconsin 7 8 WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) has provided St. Croix County with 9 a written offer to purchase County-owned property located in the SW ''/4, NE 1/4, Section 15, T3 IN, R16W in the 10 Town of Cylon consisting of 40 acres; and 11 12 WHEREAS, the 40 acre parcel is land locked and is surrounded by public land owned and managed by 13 WDNR; and 14 15 WHEREAS, St. Croix County has not made any land improvements or provided any management to this 16 property for more than 25 years; and 17 18 WHEREAS, it is in St. Croix County's best interest to sell the 40 acres to the WDNR to secure permanent 19 protection and maintain public access of this property; and 20 21 WHEREAS, the essential provisions of the offer to purchase are as follows: 22 23 1. Purchase price is $28,960.00. 24 2. The WDNR will cover the usual and customary costs related to transfer of the parcel to state 25 ownership. 26 3. No closing costs, title insurance or recording fees. 27 28 THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the WDNR offer to 29 purchase the parcel of land located in the SW ''/4, NE 1/4, Section 15, T3 IN, RI 6W in the Town of Cylon is hereby 30 accepted. 31 32 FURTHER, be it resolved that if the terms and conditions of the offer to purchase are fulfilled, the County 33 Board Chair and County Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a deed to the Wisconsin Department of Natural 34 Resources. Proceeds shall be applied to retire county debt.
