November 15, 2012
The Council on Aging & Disabilities met on November 15, 2012 in the County Board Room of
the St. Croix County Government Center.

Chair Nelson called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM.
NEXT MEETING: The next Council on Aging & Disabilities meeting is scheduled for
Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Hudson Government Center.
MINUTES: Motion: A motion was introduced by Norton-Bauman, seconded by Lee, and
unanimously adopted: To approve the minutes of the 10/18/2012 Council on Aging &
Disabilities.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Council members received copies of the September financial report.
The Home-delivered meal program revenue is lower than the budgeted projection. The program
also has higher expenses than budgeted. Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources
(GWAAR) has given approval for a one time usage from the Trust account to cover overages if
needed. The Council will review the suggested donation flyer for the Nutrition Programs. The
new flyer has an increase for the suggested donation and increase cost for those under the age of
60. The ADRC revenue is still being calculated. Once the ADRC filings are complete, the
revenue amount will increase.

AGING UPDATES:
Aging Unit Plan - final: Council members were provided with the County Plan for Older
People 2013 - 2015 and the revision check list provided by GWAAR. Revisions were
reviewed and there was discussion as to why the revisions were made. Motion: A motion
was introduced by Lee, seconded by Chevalier, and unanimously adopted: To accept the
County Plan for Older People 2013-2015.
3rd Quarter Nutrition Stats: Will be reviewed at December meeting.
Nutrition Program Managers: Eight of the nine Nutrition Program Managers informed the
Council members of the variety of activities, trips and celebrations that have taken place at
their respective Senior Centers.
Annual Monster Mash Bash - wrap up: The event was at the Roberts Park Building on
Friday, October 26. There were many who came in costume. Pre-K kids from Discovery
Preschool came in costume and entertained the attendees with a couple of songs. Roger
Heutmaker and the Hungyaks performed and many enjoyed dancing. Prizes were given to
the first, second and third place costume winners.
Transportation Program: Transportation Requests (out of county): Davis presented a
transportation request for use of the New Richmond mini bus to go to Amery on December
6th; New Richmond mini bus to go to Mall of America on December 8th; the Baldwin and
Hammond/Roberts Senior Centers will utilize two vehicles to go to Como Park, St Paul in

December. Motion: A motion was introduced by Burri, seconded by Lee, and
unanimously adopted: To accept the transportation requests.
ADRC UPDATES:
INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE UPDATE SHEET: Council members received a
handout with the most recent numbers. There have been five disenrollments from CHP;
eight enrollments into CHP-Family Care; five IRIS referrals; four IRIS enrollments; four
IRIS disenrollments.
CORRESPONDENCE:
POSSIBLE AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING: Nelson asked if the Council members
had any items they would like to discuss at the next meeting. Council member Norton-Bauman
would like to provide information on the Hudson Kiwanis program; update on The CASTLE;
quarterly report on Youth Community Options Program (COP); 3rd quarter nutrition stats; 85.21
Public Hearing; Congregate Nutrition suggested donation flyer.
ADJOURN: Council Chair Nelson adjourned the meeting at 11 a.m.
