BARBER, AdWaldralw /bMa WSUI - W. M BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS The public hearing held on January 4, 1974, was called to order at 10:00 a. m. by Chairman Herman Afdahl. Present were: Supervisors Afdahl, Luckwaldt and Olson. Absent: Supervisor Heffron. Also present Harold C. Barber, Zoning Administrator. Sam Miller requested to build on a non-conforming lot 195' wide at the east end and 172. 51 wide at west end and 5021 deep. Mr. Miller has an option to purchase this lot to build on if the approval is granted. However, the lot is owned by Winfred Grunke. The Zoning Administrator read letters from adjoining landowners objecting to the variance. Discussion on the variance by the Board of Adjustments followed. Several questions were asked of Miller and Grunke b )r the Board. Chairman Afdahl informed Mr. Miller that the Board would inspect the property and have the Zoning Administrator advise him of their decision. Mr. Robert Anderson, Baldwin, requested to build closer to US Highway 12. Mr. Anderson wants to build a 401 x 601 shop on the lot. Setback will be 701 from the centerline of Highway 12. The reason for the request is that the new building will not be closer to highway than the dock on the present building which will be removed. Questions by members of the Committee. Chairman Afdahl informed Mr. Anderson that the Committee will inspect the property and the Zoning Administrator will notify him of their decision. Upon inspection of the Miller/Grunke property, a motion by Supv. Luckwaldt to deny the variance for the following reasons: This is not a hardship case and it is also not a good building site due to topography. Supv. Olson seconded the motion for denial. Motion carried. Motion by Olson, seconded by Luckwaldt to approve the variance on the setback of Mr. Robert Anderson. Motion carried. Motion by Luckwaldt to adjourn. Seconded by Olson. Motion carried. Hearing adjourned at 2:30 p. m. The next meeting of the Board of Adjustment will be on January 24, 1974, at 11 a. m. at the Baldwin Ag Center for the ETN program. R. J.
