OF THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN

FINDINGS OF FACT AND CONCLUSIONS OF LAW
Having heard all the testimony, considered the entire record
herein, and conducted an on-site inspection, the Board finds the
following facts:
1. The applicant is Mahesh Patel, whose address is 543 County
Road B, Woodville, Wisconsin 54028
2. The applicant on July 30, 1997, filed with the Zoning Office an
application for a special exception request for a sign for his
business.
3. Mahesh Patel is the owner of the property which is the subject
of the application and located in the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of
Section 1, T28N, R16W, Town of Eau Galle, St. Croix County,
Wisconsin.
4. The subject property is currently used for the motel and is
zone commercial.
5. Special Exception request is for a permit for putting up a
sign under Section 17.65 (1) (b) and 17.65 (3) (c) A special
exception is required where there is a sign placed on a
property.
6. The following exhibits were presented:

7. Mahesh Patel, being duly sworn, stated that he is the owner of
the property and he would like to put up a sign along the road
to advertise the motel that he owns in Woodville. At the
present time it will not be lighted, but may in the future.
8. The lot is in a commercial district. Patel will agree with
any setbacks that are required for the sign.

9. The Town of Eau Galle has approved this application.
10. Under Section 17.65(1)(b) and 17.65(3)(c) an application may
be made for a sign to be constructed on a property.
11. The Board of Adjustment finds that this special exception
application conforms with the requirements for granting a
special exception under 17.65(1)(b) and 17.65(3)(c).
DECISION
On the basis of the above Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law, and
the record herein, the Board approved the applicant's request for
a special exception for a sign for his business and has been
approved on the following vote:

Chairman Bradley Yes
with the following conditions:
1) The sign is to be 200 feet from the centerline of I-94
and 10 feet from any property lines.
2) The approved sign is not to exceed 200 square feet in
area.
3) The applicant may add lighting to the sign in the future.
APPEAL RIGHTS
Any person aggrieved by this decision may file an appeal in St.
Croix County circuit court within 30 days after the filing date
shown below, pursuant to sec. 59.694(10), Wisconsin Statutes. St.
Croix County assumes no responsibility for action taken in reliance
on this decision prior to the expiration of the appeal period. St.
Croix County does not certify that the identity of all persons

legally entitled to notice of the Board of Adjustment proceedings
which resulted in this decision was provided to the County.
If an appeal is taken of this decision, it is the responsibility of
the appellant to submit at his/her expense a transcript of the
Board of Adjustment proceedings to the circuit court, which is
available from Northwestern Court Reporters, Hudson, Wisconsin. It
is the responsibility of the Board of Adjustment to submit its
record (file) of this matter to the circuit court.
