BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HEARING
u
Meeting of March 27, 1979, called to order by Chairman Pierson at
10:00 a.m. All,members present.
Minutes of the February meeting accepted as written.
Zoning Administrator read letter from Robert Mello on the personal
airstrip. Motion by Supervisor George to approve Mr. Mello's request for
a personal airstrip with the conditions stipulated. Seconded by Supervisor
Afdahl, motion carried.

Chairman Pierson called hearing to order at 10:20 a.m.
Mr. Bruce Peterson, NW4 of NE4 of Section 33, Town of Troy, requested
to construct an addition to his house 10 feet to the east and 15 feet south
of the present structure (old school house building). Also a garage that
would not meet the setback requirements of 8.4.3(b) of the ST. CROIX COUNTY
ZONING ORDINANCE. Mr. Peterson would like to utilize the old structure
that is non-conforming.
Questions by Board members.
Zoning Administrator informed the Board that Mr. Severt Carlson, a
neighbor, has no objections.
Chairman Pierson informed Mr. Peterson that the Zoning Administrator
will inform him of their decision after inspection of the property.
Mr. Basil Traynor, N2 of NE4 1 z of Section 2, `S Town of 'Eau Galle, requested
to construct a machine shed (pole building) 112 feet from the centerline
of CTH B. It is the only area to construct the building. His barn is
closer to the road.
Questions by Board members.
Chairman Pierson informed Mr. Traynor that the Zoning Administrator
will inform him of the decision after inspection of the property.
Mr. Richard Ostendorf, SE4 of NW4 of Section 33, Town of St. Joseph,
requested to construct a garage and storage building that would not meet
the 133 feet setback requirements. The building would be setback the
same distance as his house.
Questions by Board members.
Chairman Pierson informed Mr. Ostendorf that the Zoning Administrator
would inform him of the decision after they inspect the property.
Hearing recessed for inspection at 11:00 a.m.
Board went into executive session at 1:00 p.m. to discuss the properties
in question.
Board returned to open session to render decisions.
Bruce Peterson's request to construct a house addition and garage
that would not meet the 133 feet setback requirements from CTH MM: Motion
by Supervisor George to grant Mr. Peterson approval to construct an
addition to the old school building that would be 10 feet east and 15 feet
south of the present building. The garage shall be setback 133 feet from the
centerline of CTH MM. If the old main structure is removed, the whole
structure shall be moved to meet the 133 feet setback requirements.
Seconded by Supervisor Afdahl, motion carried.

Richard Ostendorf's request to construct a garage and storage shed
that would not meet the 133 feet setback from CTH E: -Motion by-Supervisor
George to grant the request of Mr. Ostendorf to construct a garage and
storage shed that would be 114 feet from the centerline of CTH E and the
building shall conform with the setback of the present attached garage.
Seconded by Supervisor Afdahl, motion carried.

Hearing adjourned at 3:00 p.m. Next scheduled meeting is April
