This onsite investigation was requested by the county to help verify soil conditions for mound type systems. The
county policy is to field verify all sites that have an A horizon and six or less inches of suitable subsoil.
Note that lot numbers have changed since the initial soil test reports were filed by Ulbricht. For simplicity sake I
decided to us the original lot number designations for reference in this report.
Three backhoe pits were reviewed. All pits had acceptable conditions for A+4 mound designs. Mound designs
should be long and narrow along a linear to convex contour. Platy soil structure may limit the linear loading rate
to less than or equal to 4.5 gpd/ft length for most or all the lots in this plat.
Representative soil profiles are recorded below:
Lot 1 original test near CST B-3:
00-08" 10YR 3/3 sil, 2msbk, mfr, aw.
08-15" 10YR 4/4 cl, 2msbk, mfr, cw, with common 10YR 5/3 si coatings on peds.
15-22" 10YR 4/4 cl, 2msbk, mfr, with common 10YR 4/3 c coatings on peds and
c1f 10YR 5/6 and c1d 10YR 5/2 rmfs interiors of peds.
Lot 2 original test near CST B-1:
00-10" 10YR 3/2 sil, 2msbk, mfr, cw.
10-12" 10YR 3/2 sil, 1f-mpl, mfr, aw.
12-14° 10YR 4/4 sil, 1 mpl, mfr, aw.
14-16" 10YR 4/4 sil, 2msbk, mfr, ac.
16-20" 10YR 4/4 sil, 2msbk, mfr, with c1 d 7.5YR 5/6 and 6/2 rmfs.
