Dear Mr. Eslinger:
The purpose of this letter is to inform yourself and the Zoning Office of the intentions of Luckwaldt
Agriculture Inc. to build a special needs barn during the fall of 2002. This facility is not being built to
expand herd size at this time. Its purpose is to provide specialized care to animals in the process of calving.
Presently, Luckwaldt Agriculture Inc. is allowed 635 animal units under its Nutrient Management Plan
The corporation has 625 animal units. Animal waste will continue to be handled as defined under the
existing Nutrient Management Plan. Please find enclosed a drawing of the facility the corporation wishes
to build with dimensions of 46 feet by 130 feet by 12 feet as well as a site plan. Necessary building
permits will be obtained prior to commencement of this project.
Additionally, throughout the course of natural calving over the winter of 2002-03 Luckwaldt Agriculture
Inc. will be exceeding the 635 animal units allowed by the current Nutrient Management Plan. An
application for an updated Nutrient Management plan will be submitted late this fall to reflect additional
animal units.
Thank you for your time, consideration and cooperation in this matter.
Respectfully sub ,
)el

Re: 590 Nutrient Management Plan Review
Dear Mr. Luckwaldt:
St. Croix County is conducting a review of your 590 Nutrient Management Plan that was
approved by the Land and Water Conservation Department as part of your special
exception use permit you received for your livestock operation in the Town of Baldwin.
Enclosed please find a spreadsheet to aid in your reporting effort. Please complete and
re-submit a nutrient spreading report for 2002's crop year to the Zoning Office by July
12"', 2002. Staff will review the spreadsheet to ensure that the 590 Nutrient Management
Plan is being implemented as approved.
Do not hesitate to contact me or David Sander at the Land and Water Conservation
Department (715) 684-2874 ext. 128, if you have questions relating to this matter.
Sincerely,
Rod Eslinger
