This facility is not being built to expand herd size at this time. Its purpose is to provide specialized care to animals in the process of calving. Presently, Luckwaldt Agriculture Inc. is allowed 635 animal units under its Nutrient Management Plan The corporation has 625 animal units. Animal waste will continue to be handled as defined under the existing Nutrient Management Plan. Please find enclosed a drawing of the facility the corporation wishes to build with dimensions of 46 feet by 130 feet by 12 feet as well as a site plan. Necessary building permits will be obtained prior to commencement of this project. Additionally, throughout the course of natural calving over the winter of 2002-03 Luckwaldt Agriculture Inc. will be exceeding the 635 animal units allowed by the current Nutrient Management Plan. An application for an updated Nutrient Management plan will be submitted late this fall to reflect additional animal units. Thank you for your time, consideration and cooperation in this matter. Enclosed please find a spreadsheet to aid in your reporting effort. Please complete and re-submit a nutrient spreading report for 2002's crop year to the Zoning Office by July 12"', 2002. Staff will review the spreadsheet to ensure that the 590 Nutrient Management Plan is being implemented as approved.
