Of NATURAL RESOURCES George E. Mayer Secretary May 17, 1994 File Ref: St. Croix County Zoning Office St. Croix Co. Government Center 1101 Carmichael Rd. Hudson, WI 54016 Subject: Pine Lake Aeration Project Permits Dear Recipient: Enclosed are application materials for the placement of two separate aeration systems for Pine Lake, located 3 miles north of Baldwin. One check has been issued to cover the application fees for both systems. , The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in cooperation with St. Croix County, wishes to rehabilitate the sport fishery in Pine Lake beginning with the installation of two aeration units. A signed agreement between the county and state are attached. Each aeration unit will be placed in separate locations, one of which is located on private land and the other on county land. An easement has been obtained from Glen Boldt for the private lands application (attached). Both aeration units will be placed on lands found in Hammond Township. Mr. Kenneth Peterson, Town Chairman, has approved of the project and will contact your office directly. Each aeration unit will consist of an 8' x 8' garden type shed placed on a cement slab near the water's edge. Electrical supply lines will be plowed into each shed. The shed will house an electric motor and industrial blower. Galvanized piping will pass from the blower to the waters edge. Black 1 1/2" plastic pipe weighted with 5/8 inch rerod will lie on the lake bottom at the desired location. An example of this type of aeration unit can be found at Squaw Lake, where aeration is considered highly successful. The rehabilitation of Pine Lake should prove to be a major benefit to St. Croix County and its residents. Thank you for considering these applications. Sincerely, Martin P.
