HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1995 (365) ORDINANCE NO.: :365 (4 A ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING VICTIM /WITNESS FEES IN COUNTY ORDINANCE CONVICTIONS WHEREAS, Section 950.06 of the Wisconsin Statutes places the responsibility for the enforcement of rights and provision of services to crime victims and witnesses with the county board, and WHEREAS, Section 59.07(100) gives the county board the authority to appropriate money for the implementation and operation of a program for victims and witnesses of crimes under §950.06, and WHEREAS, the Public Protection Committee has reviewed the District Attorney's request for the establishment of victim /witness fees in County Ordinance convictions, and WHEREAS, the victim /witness fees would apply to convictions of the following St. Croix County Ordinances: 23(79)(1), (2) - disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle 138(86) - carrying a concealed weapon 96(84) - public assistance fraud 58(82) - petty theft 53(82) - furnishing alcohol to minors 49(81) - issuing worthless checks 57(82) - damage to property 59(82) - trespassing 111(85) - disorderly conduct 112(85) - obstructing an officer 113 (85) - battery 24(79) - snowmobile ordinance The St. Croix County Board of Supervisors do ordain as follows: VICTIM /WITNESS FEE. A victim /witness fee in the amount of $15.00 shall be assessed for each conviction of the above listed County Ordinances which fee shall be collected by the Clerk of Court who shall deposit said amount with the St. Croix County Treasurer who shall deposit it into the St. Croix County General Fund. It is further ordained that this ordinance shall take effect the day after passage and publication as provided by law. Dated this id day of 0� 1995.
