RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REQUEST FOR ANNEXATION
OF PORTION OF HEALTH CARE CENTER LAND TO CITY OF
NEW RICHMOND

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the County Board previously approved the sale of County land to the
State of Wisconsin for use by the Department of Corrections; and
WHEREAS, the Human Services Board has recommended annexation of a portion
of the Health Care Center land to the City of New Richmond shown on the attached map
and described as follows:
The SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 34, T31N, R18W
The SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Sec. 35, T31N, R18W
The SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Sec. 35, T31N, R18W
The SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 35, T31N, R18W
The SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 35, T31N, R18W-
The NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 35, T31N, R18W;
and
WHEREAS, the reasons for annexation are:
1) To facilitate provision of municipal sewer and water to the land authorized
to be sold to the State of Wisconsin (New Richmond has a policy that it will not
extend sewer and water over or to property not within the city limits);
2) Some of the land to be annexed has already been provided municipal sewer
and water (this was done prior to the adoption of the city's current policy);
3) Some of the land to be annexed is or is planned for development; and
4) Current use of the land to be annexed would not be adversely affected by city
zoning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that County staff be authorized to prepare a
petition for annexation and take all other necessary action required to enable the City of
New Richmond to act on the petition; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors and
County Clerk be and are hereby authorized to execute the petition for annexation and any
other required documents to enable the City of New Richmond to act on the petition.
