WASTE REDUCTION, REUSE, AND RECYCLING PROGRAM

ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Recycling Subcommittee held three public
informational meetings during 1990 on the new state recycling law, 1989 Wisconsin
Act 335; and
WHEREAS, at the direction of the County Recycling Subcommittee and Waste
Management Committee, the Planning Department and the UW- Extension - jointly
drafted a recycling survey which was distributed to all St. Croix County
Municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the survey results were used as a guide in preparing the Waste
Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling Program; and
WHEREAS, Act 335 requires that all responsible units have an effective
recycling program by 1995; and
WHEREAS, the Waste Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling Program can be
implemented by St. Croix County without becoming a responsible unit; and
WHEREAS, the Waste Reduction, Reuse and Recycling Program provides a
base which local municipalities can build upon to implement an effective recycling
program; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the Waste Reduction, Reuse and
Recycling Program will be fully implemented,
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that the ordinance(s) and /or resolution(s) for the
Waste Reduction, Reuse and Recycling Program will be submitted to the County
Board no later than August, 1991,
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
St. Croix County municipalities.
