TO THE CITY OF NEW RICHMOND FOR A
NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY
RESOLUTION NO. /630t)
St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, an agreement was reached between St. Croix County and the City of
New Richmond in which the County would sell to the City a parcel of land for the site of
a National Guard armory at a price of $23,452; and
WHEREAS, a deed from St. Croix County dated January 14, 1988 was given to the
City of New Richmond for said land; and
WHEREAS, the County obtained a policy of title insurance for said land; and
WHEREAS, the deed contains a provision that the land revert back to St. Croix
County if the National Guard armory is not constructed within five years of the date of the
deed; and
WHEREAS, New Richmond has not paid any part of the purchase price of $23,452;
and
WHEREAS, the City desires that the purchase price be reduced; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Finance, Budget, Building and Bond Committee
has considered New Richmond's request; and
WHEREAS, the Committee feels this matter should be considered and acted upon
by the Board of Supervisors without a recommendation from the Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors that the purchase price of the land deeded to the City of New Richmond for a
National Guard armory site is hereby reduced by $5,000, to $18,452.
