FOR STEAM USE

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the American Resource Recovery waste -to- energy facility produces
steam which is available as an energy source or for processes to other businesses; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix Health Center currently uses some steam as an energy
source; and
WHEREAS, the County Finance, Budget, Building and Bond Committee
recommends exploration of possible additional uses of steam; and
WHEREAS, the engineering firm of R.W. Beck and Associates has represented to
the Finance Committee that it has the expertise to perform such a study at a cost of $15,500,
plus 10% contingency for possible unforeseeable cost overruns;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors that a contract be negotiated by and between R.W. Beck and the County,
represented by the County Board Chairman, Administrative Coordinator and Corporation
Counsel, to study and prepare a report regarding possible additional uses for steam by the
County;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the cost for such study and report not exceed
$15,500, plus 10% contingency for possible unforeseeable cost overruns;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the other terms of the agreement be
negotiated;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if negotiations are successful, the contract be
executed by the County Board Chairman and County Clerk.
