RESOLUTION NO. 3 S (TA
* Whereas the youth oriented educational outreach program of the
United States Department of Agriculture, along with the
University of Wisconsin - Cooperative Extension Service is 4 -H;
and
* Whereas over 145,000 youth and 20,000 adult volunteers state-
wide along with 900 youth and 400 adult volunteer county -wide
participate in 4 -H programs; and
* Whereas 4 -H programs help youth and adults learn life skills
in leadership, citizenship, coping with change, communication,
learning how to learn, decision making and self esteem through
hands on project work; and
* Whereas the long -term benefits of 4 -H membership and volunteer
leadership help to improve quality of life, health, welfare,
the environment, along with the future of our county; and
* Whereas the week of October 6 - 12 has been identified as
National 4 -H Week for 4- H'ers, parents, and volunteers from all
of St. Croix County,
So now therefore, be it resolved, that the St. Croix County
Board of Supervisors assembled this 8th day of October, 1991
officially recognize and commend the youth and volunteers for
their involvement in the 4 -H Programs.
