AS THE ST. CROIX COUNTY LAND INFORMATION OFFICE

WHEREAS, 1989 Wisconsin Act 31 established the Wisconsin Land
Information Program and authorized County Land Information Offices
and financial aids to counties for land record modernization
projects; and
WHEREAS, 1989 Wisconsin Act 339 established local and state
funding for the Wisconsin Land Information Program by increasing
recording fees for the first page of real estate documents by $4.00
on July 1, 1990 and by $2.00 on July 1, 1991; and
WHEREAS, 1989 Wisconsin Act 339 requires that counties
designate a County Land Information Office and develop a County
Land Information Plan to be eligible to use the additional local
funding or apply for local grants -in -aid; and
WHEREAS, several committees and departments of St. Croix
County are responsible for the development and management of
various land records; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County could be eligible for additional
funds of at least $10,000 in 1990, $30,000 in 1991 and $40,000 in
1992;
NOW THEREFORE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, hereby designates the
St. Croix County Planning Department as the St. Croix County Land
Information Office, pursuant to s.59.88(3), Wisconsin Statutes, on
an interim basis, for the purposes of preparing a County Land
Information Plan; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the permanent designation of a
County Land Information Office will be evaluated and decided as
part of the preparation and adoption of the County Land Information
Plan by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors.
