ON QUESTION OF REDUCING THE NUMBER OF
COUNTY BOARD SUPERVISORS
Resolution No. oq 3
WHEREAS, Section 59.03(3), Wisconsin Statutes, establishes the
maximum number of county board supervisors, based on county
population; and
WHEREAS, following each decennial federal census, county
boards must adopt a county supervisory district plan setting forth
the number of supervisory districts and tentative boundaries or a
description of boundary requirements; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County presently has 31 supervisory
districts, the maximum allowed from the previous census; and
WHEREAS, the idea of reducing the number of supervisory
districts has been presented to the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, reducing the number of supervisory districts is a
question properly put to the voters of St. Croix County through an
advisory referendum; and
WHEREAS, an advisory referendum could be conducted at the
Fall, 1990 elections;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the following
question be asked in an advisory referendum at the Fall, 1990
elections;
"Should the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
be reduced in size from 31 supervisors to not more than
21 supervisors, starting with the Spring, 1992
elections ?"
