WHEREAS, in September, 1989 the Board of Supervisors created the Economic
Development Committee to study the feasibility and desirability of a County- sponsored
economic development organization; and
WHEREAS, the Committee contacted for information other Wisconsin counties
utilizing an economic development organization and municipalities within St. Croix County;
and
WHEREAS, the Committee has concluded that a County - sponsored economic
development organization is not feasible at this time based on responses from municipalities
and present County budget concerns; and
WHEREAS, the Committee recommends that no County - sponsored economic
development organization be created and that the Committee be disbanded immediately;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that no further effort be made to study the
feasibility of or establish a County - sponsored economic development organization; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Economic Development Committee be and
is hereby disbanded with thanks to the members for their service. C a o

AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION #27
DISBANDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Motion by Supr. Stephens, 2nd by Supr. Malick to disband
committee. Motion by Supr. Stephens, 2nd by Supr. Sinclear
to amend motion by adding "and that dissolution not occur until
new Committee is appointed based on recommendations of
General Services." Amendment carried. Motion carried.
