HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1989 (14) RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING ONE ADDITIONAL CIRCUIT COURT JUDGESHIP FOR ST. CROIX COUNTY Resolution # /4(e9) WHEREAS, there are presently two (2) Circuit Court Judges for St. Croix County, and WHEREAS, an additional Circuit Court Judge is needed to handle the ever - increasing judicial work for St. Croix County; and WHEREAS, St. Croix County is one of the fastest growing and wealthiest counties in Wisconsin, thereby indicating that more and more litigation is forthcoming; and WHEREAS, although the present courthouse in St. Croix County cannot adequately handle three full -time Circuit Court Judges, a new courthouse for St. Croix County is being planned to accommodate four courtrooms; and WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of St. Croix County to have the State Legislature create an additional judgeship for St. Croix County to be effective whenever another full -time courtroom can be constructed to accommodate another Circuit Judge, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the Board recommends to the State Legislature and to Governor Thompson that one additional Circuit Court Judgeship for St. Croix County be created immediately, but with the effective date to be upon completion of construction of a full -time courtroom for another Circuit Judge; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be immediately forwarded to Governor Thompson, our area legislators, and J.
