COUNTY -WIDE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
RESOLUTION NO. cJ0(t9}
WHEREAS, economic development provides jobs and income, and
WHEREAS, economic development diversifies and increases the
tax base of St. Croix County, and
WHEREAS, county -wide multi - community collaborative economic
development programs may be more effective than
individual community efforts within the county, and
WHEREAS, a poll of City Mayors, Village Presidents, and local
economic development organization leaders in St.
Croix County indicates support for studying the
possibility of a county -wide collaborative economic
development program,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors, meeting in regular session on this
12th day of September, 1989, create a special Study
Committee composed of five members of the Board
appointed by the Board Chairman, whose task shall be
to determine the feasibility of a county- wide
economic development program and to report its
findings and recommendations to the Board.
