RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY AND
HANDICAPPED.

WHEREAS, section 85.21, Wisconsin Statutes, directs that the
State provide financial assistance to counties providing
transportation services for the elderly and handicapped, thereby
improving and promoting the maintenance of human dignity and
self sufficiency by affording the benefits of transportation
services to those people who would not otherwise have an
available or accessible method of transportation; and
WHEREAS, the financial assistance program is administered by
the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to create a transportation system
which provides services to the elderly and handicapped residents
of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Human Resource Network Committee is comprised
of representatives of all human services providers in the County
and is best suited to sux s- s uch system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors meeting in regular session that a system of
providing transportation services to the elderly and handicapped
residents of the County be established and supervised by the
Human Resource Network Committee.
