WHEREAS, St. Croix County currently monitors nearly two
hundred business, institutional, and residential alarms at its
Emergency Communications Center, averaging nearly 2,000 alarm
calls annually; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County continues to grow and the number
of alarms monitored is increasing; and
WHEREAS, the Emergency Communication Center has seen its
emergency workload increase dramatically; and
WHEREAS, the time to monitor each of the 2,000 alarms
annually involves substantial manpower hours; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of St. Croix
County to remove alarms from the Emergency Communications Center
and turn them over to the private sector,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County
Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, approves the
removal of all alarms from the Emergency Communications Center.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Communications Director for
St. Croix County is hereby directed to facilitate the removal of
alarms by June 1, 1988.
