HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1988 (07) RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CONTINUATION OF THE NATIONAL CHILDHOOD VACCINE PROGRAM. Resolution # 785) WHEREAS, St. Croix County has been advised by the State Department of Health and Social Services that during the calendar year 1988 the cost of vaccinations at $8.00 per injection will be passed on to provider agencies such as St. Croix County; and WHEREAS, there is a concern that low income families will not be able to pay the $8.00 for their children's vaccinations, which could result in serious illness with great economical health costs involved; and WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of St. Croix. County taxpayers that the childhood vaccination program be continued without placing additional economic burdens on low income families; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, opposes any effort by the State of Wisconsin to discontinue funding for the National Childhood Vaccine Program; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be provided by the County Clerk to Governor Thompson, and all area legislators.
