WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes Section 69.22(6) provides that
the Register of Deeds may provide free searches and free copies
to agencies in his or her county of vital records at the
direction of the County Board; and
WHEREAS, the General Services Committee has met concerning
this issue and recommends to the County Board that the fees for
searches and copies of vital records from the Register of Deeds
Office be waived whenever county agencies, in performing their
respective duties and responsibilities, request such searches or
copies from the Register of Deeds Office,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the Register of
Deeds shall provide free searches and free copies of vital
records to county agencies whenever these agencies are requesting
the same to perform the duties and responsibilities of their
agencies.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall take
effect immediately.
