RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR MAJOR TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS
ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, the Transportation Projects Commission, which convenes every
other year to consider major highway projects for enumeration to fund
in Wisconsin, will again be meeting this summer to consider projects
for funding, and
WHEREAS, numerous projects will again be under consideration by the
Commission, and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County continues to have four major project
candidates identified which would fall under the purview of this
Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors go on record as reaffirming its support for prompt
construction of the Stillwater Bridge over the St. Croix River and it's
approaches as being the number one priority for St. Croix County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
strongly urge the Department of Transportation to initiate the
corridor /environmental impact study for the upgrading of the STH 35/64
corridor from Houlton to New Richmond so that the project can be
considered in a timely manner by the Transportation Projects Commission
in conjunction with the completion of the Stillwater Bridge and it's
approaches to open up the entire northern Wisconsin area for continued
economic development, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
petition the Transportation Projects Commission to enumerate the River
Falls by -pass /four lane project for funding during the current budget
cycle so that the project can move forward quickly as it is in a
position to be constructed upon receiving funding.
