WHEREAS, the Human Services Board for St. Croix County has
been studying the feasibility of selling the 1982 portion of the
county -owned nursing home located on the St. Croix Health Center
premises, together with the mental health transitional house,
parking lot, and sufficient surrounding land; and
WHEREAS, this sale is being contemplated due to the
increasing expense of operating said nursing home to St. Croix
County taxpayers; and
WHEREAS, the Human Services Board on May 24, 1988 voted 6 -1
in favor of recommending to the full County Board that the
nursing home be sold; and
WHEREAS, it now appears, based upon the report and
recommendation of the Human Services Board, that it is in the
best interests of St. Croix County to sell the nursing home,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors, meeting in special session, that the 1982 portion
of the county -owned nursing home located on the St. Croix Health
Center premises, together with the mental health transitional
house, parking lot, and sufficient surrounding land be sold,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Human Services Board and the
Finance, Budget, Building and Bond Committee are authorized to
proceed to advertise for potential buyers, interview them,
negotiate with them, and arrive at a written proposal to sell to
one buyer, conditioned upon final approval of such proposal by
the full County Board; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Human Services Board and the
Finance, Budget, Building and Bond Committee are authorized to
utilize any existing county staff persons or hire any experts or
consultants to accomplish such sale; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such sale shall be closed as
soon as possible after January 1, 1989.
