PUBLIC HEALTH SUBCOMMITTEE
Resolution # 6
WHEREAS, Dr. Clifford Olson of Baldwin served both as an
advisor to, and as a member of, the St. Croix County Health
Committee (now Public Health Subcommittee of Human Services
Board) for over 50 years; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Olson has been a strong supporter of programs
to prevent disease and programs promoting health, including:
Communicable Disease Control, Immunizations, WIC, Health
Screenings, School Health Programs, and Family Planning; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Olson was instrumental in starting the Home
Care Program in 1967; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as an advisor to and a member of
the Health Committee, Dr. Olson devoted significant time and
energy to being a spokesman and advocate for all County Health
Programs; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of all of St.
Croix County to appoint Dr. Olson as a Member Emeritus to the
Public Health Subcommittee of the Human Services Board to best
demonstrate St. Croix County's appreciation for the time, energy,
advice, and devotion that he gave to all county health programs;
and
WHEREAS, the Human Services Board on January 26, 1988
recommended the appointment of Dr. Clifford Olson as a Member
Emeritus of the Public Health Subcommittee;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that Dr. Clifford
Olson is hereby appointed as a Member Emeritus to the Public
Health Subcommittee of the Human Services Board, effective
immediately, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Board publicly
recognizes and appreciates the significant efforts of Dr. Olson
to promote health and health programs for all St. Croix County
residents.
