Resolution # /D £ ) WHEREAS, on August 27, 1986, at a meeting held at Wausau, Wisconsin, President David Draves of the Wisconson Counties Association delivered remarks concerning mandates; and WHEREAS, these unfunded mandates have been placed on county government entities by legislature or administrative rule; and WHEREAS, in many cases state measures to require county record keeping and program compliance far exceed minimum federal requirements; and WHEREAS, these unfunded mandates place an extra burden on the property tax which is already overloaded; and WHEREAS, President Draves proposed to establish an amendment to our state constitution which would prohibit the imposition of any state mandate without sufficient funding, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, declares its support for President Drave's proposal prohibiting imposition of any state mandates on local government without sufficient funding, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the the County Clerk for St. Croix County shall send copies of this Resolution to all area legislators governing St. Croix County.
