HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1987 (11) RESOLUTION REGARDING STATE EMPLOYEE SALARY STRUCTURE AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Resolution # // (g7) WHEREAS, budget cutbacks at the federal level will be affecting the USDA, Cooperative Extension Service, to the extent that St. Croix County may have to reduce staff or share staff with neighboring counties; and WHEREAS, reduction of staff time at the county level will AMENDED TO a reduction of READ result in the educational services to the taxpayers and residents of St. Croix County; and WHEREAS, state management employees still continue to receive pay raises despite budget reductions at both the federal and state levels of government, which demand further cuts at the county level of government; and WHEREAS, the salary structure for state management employees is inappropriately out of balance when compared to other state and county level employees. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the state legislature freeze the wages and fringe benefits of state employees; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all future budget reductions be at the state management level and not at the county service level; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the state legislature adjust the salaries of all state employees to be proportionate to their duties and responsibilities; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all state employee's salaries reflect a pyramid structure proportionate to their authority, duties, and responsibilities; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be sent by the County Clerk for St. Croix County to all area legislators representing St. Croix County including the Governor.
