many years ago the Wisconsin Legislature created a
Segregated Transportation Trust Fund to be used to collect, in
trust, various transportation revenues such as registration fees
and gas tax; and
WHEREAS, originally the Segregated Transportation Trust Fund
was to be used for highway related expenditures only; and
WHEREAS, in the last biennium, the Wisconsin Legislature
utilized the Segregated Transportation Trust Fund monies to
supplement the general fund and other non - highway related uses;
and
WHEREAS, all available Segregated Transportation Trust Fund
monies should be utilized solely for highway related
expenditures,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the Segregated
Transportation Trust Fund be used solely for its intented
purpose, that being highway related expenditures only,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk for St. Croix
County is hereby directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to
all area Legislatures, Governor Anthony Earl, and Lowell Jackson,
the Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
