COMPARABLE WORTH FROM THE STATE BUDGET.

WHEREAS, the concept of' comparable worth is an issue that
should be decided independently of the budget, and should be
considered on its own merits; and
WHEREAS, a comparable worth plan would have an initial
enormous monetary impact, and is a social issue which should be
separated from any consideration in the budget at present; and
WHEREAS, completion of the comparable worth study and public
hearings should be accomplished before inclusion in the state
budget,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County
Board of Supervisors recommend to Governor Anthony Earl and local
Assemblymen and Senators, to delete budgetary provisions for
implementation of a comparable worth plan until the completion of
public hearings and results of the study have been reported.
