HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2013 (16) Resolution No. 16 (2013) RESOLUTION APPROVING OFFER TO PURCHASE FORMER PEI COUNTY MARKET BUILDING IN NEW RICHMOND, WISCONSIN 1 WHEREAS, on October 26, 2010 the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors 2 approved Resolution No. 35 (attached) committing to vacate the Health and Human 3 Services Building; and 4 5 WHEREAS, on January 8, 2013, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors 6 approved Resolution No. 7 (attached) authorizing the County Administrator to take all 7 necessary steps to relocate the Health and Human Services (HHS) employees; and 8 9 WHEREAS, the County Administrator has pursued and evaluated several options 10 for relocation of the HHS employees including a Request for Proposals (RFP) for 11 leasing office space which resulted in two responses, one to build and one to lease; and 12 13 WHEREAS, Administration has analyzed all options and has determined that 14 purchasing, rather than leasing the proposed property (described below) would be more 15 cost effective; and 16 17 WHEREAS, the County Administrator, on behalf of the County Board of 18 Supervisors and Administration Committee, has negotiated an offer to purchase, subject 19 to County Board approval, the former County Market Building, 1752 Dorsett Lane, in 20 the City of New Richmond, Wisconsin for $1,280,000.00 from J & L Real Estate, LLC; 21 and 22 23 WHEREAS, on July 10, 2013, the County Administrator informed the Committee 24 of the Whole of the pending offer to purchase the property; and 25 26 WHEREAS, the Administration Committee is responsible for recommending to 27 the County Board the acquisition, sale and use of County land; and 28 29 WHEREAS, the Administration Committee recommends the County Board of 30 Supervisors authorize the purchase of the former County Market Building at the location 31 and price stated above. 32 33 THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that 34 the County Administrator is authorized to take all necessary steps to purchase the 35 former County Market Building located at 1752 Dorsett Lane in New Richmond, 36 Wisconsin for $1,280,000.00. 37 38 FURTHER, be it resolved that the purchase of the building initially be funded 39 from the Capital Project Fund with the option that the purchase amount may 40 subsequently be reimbursed to the Capital Project Fund from future borrowed funds.
