RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL FOR
MEMBERS OF THE COUNTY BOARD AND STAFF To STUDY
RESOURCE RECOVERY FACILITIES

WHEREAS, the disposal of solid waste is becoming~an urgent
problem in St. Croix County; and
WHEREAS, the County Comprehensive Planning and Zoning Committee
and Solid Waste~Advisory Committee has prepared~a County Solid Waste
Management Plan and an Energy Recovery Feasibility Study; and
WHEREAS, the Energy Recovery Feasibility Study points tv the
feasibility of developing an energy recovery facility in_ New Richmond to serve the Tri-County Area; and
WHEREAS, there are numerous new .and established incineration
technologies available throughout the Country;}.arid
WHEREAS, it is critical to review on-site some of these selected
facilities prior to asking for "Request For Proposals";
NOGG THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that County~Bvard Members and selected 1
staf ~ b.e authorized far out-of-state travel to~ New Yvrk, Massachusetts, New
Hampshire and Nashville and other selected places to review these technologies,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Committee and staff members travel in groups of three and report back to respective committees and~the County
Board.
