RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION ~~27 ~ 84 } AND ES ~ ABLISHING POLICY FOR
NEW PQSITIONS IN THE 1~85~-$b BUDGET YEAR.

WHEREAS, local property taxes continue to ncrease much faster than
property valuations, and
WHEREAS, the number of persons employed by St. Croix Count continues Y
to increase much faster .than population growth 'n St. Croix Count and Y~
WHEREAS, it appears that increases in loca spendin will likel

surpass the inflationary controls which Federal budget cuts, Federal
Revenue Sharing, and State Shared Revenues are ttem ti to achiev p ~ .e, and
WHEREAS, the level of government services rovided b
p y St. Croix County
is unsurpassed in the State of Wisconsin and can well afford not to ex and

in or beyond its present programs, and
WHEREAS, the voters of St. Croix Count should not be Y asked to have
their property taxes increased substantially in 1985.
NQW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix Count Board of Su ervi Y p sors,

that a thorough study be made before an new er en
