RESOLUTION CREATING LIBRARY STUDY OMMITTEE

WHEREAS, during the November 198 b dget session the St.
Croix County Board of Supervisors passed a Motion recommending a
study of the St, Croix County Library during the forthcoming
year, with quarterly reports to the County Board in order to
ascertain whether or not the said Librar should continue to
ex i st~; and
WHEREAS, the General Services Committee was asked to
determine the composition and scope of responsibilities for such
a Library Study Committee; and
WHEREAS, the General Services Committee has met concernin g
said Library Study Committee and recommends that such a committee
be comprised ,of five County Board Members, one from the present
Library Board, one from the Finance, Budg t, Bui ldin and Bond

Committee, one from the Personnel Committee, one from the General
Services Committee, and one from the Wisconsin University
Extension, Education,. Agriculture and Land Conservation
Committee; and
WHEREAS, the General Services Committe recommends that the
Library Study Committee conduct a study of all munici al

libraries in St. Croix ,County, including a review of a curve Y
done by the present Library Board; recommends a stud of the Cit. Y Y
of River Falls usage of the County Librar recommends a
Y~ study of
the County Library budget in relationshi to services rovi • P p d ed, a
personnel study of the job descriptions o ~ al 1 County Librar Y
employees, including Zndianhead employees; study the mail-a-book
program; study the building and site requirements for the County
Library, including the physical location of the said Librar and Y~
a study of various alternatives to the term nation of the County
Library.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the 51 , Croix County Board
of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that a Count

Library Study Committee is hereby created wi h the composition of
said committee to be five County Board members, one from the
present Library Board, one frorn the Finance, Budget, Building and
Bond Committee, one from the Personnel Committee, one from the

General Services Committee, and one from the Wisconsin University
Extension, Education, Agriculture and Land Conservation
Committee,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the scope of responsibi 1 ities
for the. said Library Study Committee shall be as set forth in
Paragraph 4 above.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said Library -Study Committee
shal 1 report quarter 1 y to the County Board of Supervisors
concerning the progress and findings of such a study,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said Library Study
Committee shall terminate on ar before the November 19x5 regular.
session of the St, Croix County Haard of Supervisors.
