RESOLUTION REGARDING PUBLISHING SAMPLES.OF OE`FICIAL BALLOTS IN COUNTY NEWSPAPERS
Resolution
WHEREAS., Wisconsin Statutes Section 10.012}fib} requires counties to
publish samples of official ballots for elections as "Type B" notices; and
WHEREAS, rr~pe Brr notices require that said ballats be published twice
by county clerks in official county newspapers; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has been re-districted into parts of three
Assembly Districts, making additional ballot notices necessary; and
WHEREAS, the expense for publishing said ballot notices for the 198
September Primary was $5,~~7.68; and
WHEREAS, the cost of printing of those ballots was $3,50.00; and
WHEREAS, the expense for publishing said ballot notices for the 198
General Election was $~,085.7b; and
WHEREAS, the cast for printing of those ballots was $2,000.00,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors,
meeting in regular session, that the County Board recommends an amendment to
Wisconsin Statutes 10.01~~}fib} to require that "Type B" notices be published
only once by the county clerks, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this resolution be sent
to the State Elections Board, Senator Harsdorf, Assemblymen Paulson, Shoemaker,
and Berndt, and the Wisconsin Counties Association.
