EXPLANATION
In February of 2024, the Dunn County Surveyor's Office found an iron pipe with a 3W' diameter St. Croix County aluminum cap in concrete and four
iron pipe ties according tnatie sheet byRusch doted1SS3. The monument was found slightly easterly of a partly down north -south fence which was
leaning westerly. No fence was found running easterly in the area of the monument. The original government bearing trees were searched for, but
not found. The area around the monument was scraped to remove leaves and other debris, but no further evidence of the quarter corner was found.
A magnetic locator was used to search the area around the monument, but no further evidence of the quarter corner was found. Fence corners were
found near the ranoa, quarter corner ofsection s, the south 1/16th corner of the northwest quarter of section 6, and the nvmheani corner of
government lot 6 of section 1. The described fence corners roughly compare with locations measured by Rusch according to the field notes related
to this quarter onmec Though euocx'o tie sheet does not specifically state how he came to set a monument wxom he set it, it is believed that he
u.sed a north -south fence near this quarter corner and the described fence corners to derive a location for this quarter corner. The aluminum cap fell
approximately 1o1oY2 fee southerly of the fence corner near the southeast oume, of government lot s. When a line was computed from the
aluminum cap to the east quarter corner of section 6, the fence corner near the center quarter corner of section 6 fell approximately 1% feet northerly
vfthe computed line. The fence corner found near the south 1/16th corner of the northwest quarter of section 6 fell approximately 4 feet northerly of
the same computed line. The aluminum cap fell approximately n feet short of the distance from the southeast corner of section 1 reported in the
original government survey. Because the aluminum cap was found close ma north -south fence, and because the aluminum oap's |omyUnn respected
lines of occupation in section 6, the aluminum cap was accepted as the best evidence of the quarter corner's location.

Corner monument restored.
This record shall show the location of the corner and shall include all
of the following nine elements (a through 1).
(b) Describe any record evidence, occupational evidence, testimonial evidence or any other material evidence
you considered, and whether the monument was found or placed. In St. Croix County there is
no record of surveys or occupation at the E1/4 Corner of Section 1. In Dunn County
we found standing fences at the occupied C1/4 Corner of Section 6, T30N, R14W, and
at the CW 1/16 line. Government notes by James E. Freeman from January of 1849 give
the Gov't. distances along the East line of Section 1 as 2640' and 3663' to the Third
Parallel. A 1901 survey by John McClure, then County Surveyor, gives a distance from
the above corner to the Third Parallel as 3646.5'. Occupation at the N1/16 fits vwry
well; occupation at the SE corner of Gov't Lot 1 was in disrepair. No local residents
had any idea of where the corner should be, to my knowledge.

(e) Describe any material discrepancy between the location of the corner as restored or reestablished
and the location of that corner as previously restored or reestablished by distance and direction.

To my knowledge, this corner has not previously been reestablished. Our distances
are about 10' shorter than John McClure's measurement in 1901. We also measure almost
4.5' shorter along the East line of the SE a of Section 1 than Government notes.
(f) Was the corner restored through acceptance of (1) an obliterated evidence location, or, (2) a found
perpetuated location?
An obliterated evidence location.
(g&h) Was the corner reestablished through lost corner proportionate methods? If so, show the method,
including the directions and distances to other public land survey corners used as evidence or used
for proportioning in determining the corner location?
