In January nf2na4 the Dunn County Surveyor's Office found m B*mtsen aluminum monument with u sXr diameter cap and four nabe, ueo
according to a tie sheet by C|om dated 2000. The original government bearing trees were searched for, out not found. The area around the
aluminum monument was scraped to remove iea,ea, snow, and other debhs, but no further evidence of the corner was found. A magnetic locator
was used to search the area around the aluminum mvnument, but no further evidence of the corner was found. The aluminum monument fell
approximately 16 feet short of the distance from the east quarter corner nfsection 12 reported in the original government survey. The aluminum
monument fell approximately 1V>\feet short vfthe distance from the south quarter corner ofsection 7 reported inthe original government survey.
The north -south centerline ofomhStreet fell approximately OY2 feet westerly of the computed south 1/16th corner of the fractional southwest quarter
of section 7 when using the aluminum monument and the south quarter corner of section 7. Because the aluminum monument was found at a fence
comer, and hocmvvo the distances from the adjacent quarter corners compared well with the distances reported in the original government survey,
the aluminum Monument was accepted as the best evidence of the corner's location.
