EXPLANATION
In December of 2023, the Dunn County Surveyor's Office found a Berntsen aluminum monument with a 3%" diameter cap and four ties according to a
tie sheet by King dated 2010. Two additional tree ties according to YVuax's 1989 tie sheet were also found, but the nails were overgrown, The
original government bearing trees were searched for, but not found. The area around the monument was scraped tnremove leaves and other debris,
but no further evidence of the quarter corner was fnwnd x magnetic locator was used to search the area around the mnnument, but no further
evidence of the quarter corner was found. The aluminum monument fell approximately 12 feet short of the distance from the northeast corner of
section 36 reported in the original government survey. When a line was computed from the aluminum monument to the northeast corner of section
36, a fence corner near the east 1/16th corner of the northeast quarter of section 36 was found to fall approximately 4 feet southerly of the mid -point
of that line, The aluminum monument fell approximately 2% feet long of the distance from the southeast corner of section 36 reported in the original
government survey. xfvnoe end found near the southerly right-of-way line of Highway VVfell less than 1/2 foot westerly of straight line from the
aluminum monument to the southeast corner of section 36. Because the aluminum monument was found close to a fence intersection, and because
the distances from the adjacent section corners compared well with the distances mpuhod in the original government sumey, the aluminum
monument was accepted oethe best evidence ofthe quarter corner's location.

A magnetic search of the area was performed and an Aluminum monument was located a long with
two 60d nails in trees around the area. The two 60d nails fit the distances of two witness monuments
to the Aluminum monument as described in the Steven J. Waak 1989 tie sheet. Believing this to be
the best evidence of the location of the East Quarter Corner of Section 36, Township 30 North,
Range 15 West, two 3/4" iron rebar were set as shown below to replace lost witness monuments,
(c) In the plan view drawing below, provide referince ties to at least 4 witness monuments, or, if the
