Croix County Board of Adjustment conducted a public hearing on September 29 , 1981 , to consider the request of Dr . Earl Jacot , for a variance to Article 8 . 4 F 1 b , Access Driveway, ST . CROIX COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE. The St . Croix County Board of Adjustment conducted an on-site inspection of the site in question_ After inspection, the St . Croix County Board of Adjustment entered an Executive Session to discuss the request . After returning to open session the following decision was rendered : Motion by Supervisor Meinke to hold this open' until October meeting. Zoning Administrator to contact Department of Transportation on getting permission to extend driveway and use a portion of right of way for access . Seconded by Supervisor Handlos . Barber, Administrator St. Croix County Zoning Office Post Office Box 227 Hammond, Wisconsin 54015 Dear Mr. Barber: SUBJECT: Request for Variance Dr. Earl Jacot Property _ USH 63 St. Croix County In response to your request, we have investigated the possibility of using the USH 63 right-of-way to build a connecting driveway between the existing access to the Baldwin Motor Company property and that of Dr. Earl Jacot, lying approximately 50 feet to the north. We are in agreement with the Board, in that minimizing the number o_f access points should be our goal. However, in this case, the right-of-way is not sufficient to provide room for a driveway with adequate width to allow for the safe maneuvering of vehicles entering and leaving the highway. In an effort to resolve this matter, our first recommendation would be a joint-use driveway located on the common property line, provided that the two owners can reach agreement. Our second would be a separate driveway to serve Dr. Jacot's property only. While we are fully aware that this second recommendation requires a variance to the County Zoning Ordinance, we feel that because Dr. Jacot owned the property before the enactment of the ordinance, due consideration should be given to this option.
